Adult only Bingo for used books

Bingo will be held Saturday, November 17th from 12pm—2pm. Bingo winners will be given a ticket, that ticket will then be redeemed for a Used Book. Bingo cards will be $3.00 for two squares or $5.00 for four squares (cash only).

Short Story Contest

Grades 2nd—5th and Grades 6th—8th. There will be ONE winner in each group. There is no specific topic or genre needed for the story. Anything age appropriate goes. See library staff for contest rules. All entries must be turned in to the Louis Bennett Public Library no later than Wednesday, November 21st at 5pm.

Writers Open Discussion

Fridays in November from 2:30pm-3:30pm there will be an open discussion on writing topics such as the writing process, publishing as well as hosting a read aloud with local writers. All are welcome and encouraged to join in the discussion, read aloud from their own work for feedback or just sit back and listen. Patrons can check FB for each Friday’s discussion topics.

Next Library Board Meeting

Meetings are open to the public. 

 The next board meeting will be published in  the Weston Democrat newspaper.

  Friends of the Library

 The Friends of the Library met quarterly at the library. Meeting dates are posted at the library and in the Weston Democrat. The Friends of the Library raise money for library improvements and children's programs.  


Computer Access

The Louis Bennett Public Library has four public access computers. The library received these computers as a gift from the Gates Library Foundation. Library patrons can use numerous software programs and multimedia information tools, as well as the World Wide Web. The library has wireless Internet access. Visitors may bring their own laptops with wireless capabilities and work at one of the many tables in the library.
